Welcome
to Hermosillo Family Therapy, Inc.
About
Hermosillo Family Therapy was founded on the principles of providing accessible mental health services to the Los Angeles community. Our practice is led by Dr. Desiree Hermosillo, PsyD, LMFT. She is a Mexican-American psychotherapist born and raised in Los Angeles, and is passionate about giving back to the community that raised her. She started this group practice while in her doctoral program. She learned that being a bilingual therapist in Los Angeles, as well as being a human and animal advocate, was important to staying connected to the community.

At Hermosillo Family Therapy, we strive to bring accessible mental health services to our communities and make sure that everyone has access to the care they need. We also strive to create a safe and welcoming space for our clients and provide bilingual services in both English and Spanish. From anxiety and depression to relationship issues to trauma, we are here to help you through your mental health journey. Our goal is to provide accessible, affordable, and culturally-relevant mental health services to the Los Angeles area.
*We are currently only licensed in California and can only provide therapeutic services to those residing in the state.
Meet the Owner
Dr. Desirée Hermosillo, PsyD, LMFT
"Hola, My name is Desirée Hermosillo. I am the owner of Hermosillo Family Therapy Inc. I am a Bilingual Latina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has 8 year's experience as a mental health therapist. I also am a Psychological Associate at a separate practice supervised by a Licensed Psychologist. I recently graduated with my PsyD in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I started off my education with an A.A. in Child Development from East Los Angeles College in 2011, B.S. in Child Development from the University of La Verne in 2014, and M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy with a Specialization in Latino/a Family Studies from Pacific Oaks College in 2017. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2020.
I started my therapy career working with foster/adopted youth, adolescents, immigrants, and families in residential and school based programs from community based non-profits. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, abuse and immigration trauma, PTSD, self-harm/SI, life transitions (work, school, identity, relationships), and grief and loss.
After I became licensed in 2020 I started at group practices to get a feel for the difference in work I would do with clients. Here, is where I became passionate and dreamed about opening my own practice to continue to work with clients in the community virtually to reach more individuals. As I continue on with my education to one day become a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I decided to take that leap of faith and open my own practice now. I also became a Supervisor in 2023 and decided to make this practice a group practice to help train future clinicians on their paths to licensure.
As a team effort, we strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals as we are a mix of clinicians as well. Please feel free view our "Meet the Team" page to see our amazing clinicians to spot which one would be a great fit for you!"
